Cover Up is a new series of oil paintings. Portions of old canvases are covered up or painted over with tarps, cloths, or other materials. Some parts are left untouched. Every now and then bits and pieces of the original painting come out or attempt to reveal themselves. The mystery of what lies beneath the covers is what interests me. What do we cover up? Secrets, things we are embarrassed or ashamed of? It is hard to keep those things covered up.
